The Se Cathedral is a catholic church in Panjim, Goa. It was built in the 17th century and has been around for over 350 years. The cathedral is dedicated to St Catherine of Alexandria, who is often called Saint Katherine of India because she had strong ties with the country. The Church has stunning architecture that stands out among the other buildings in the city. A major renovation took place between 1887 and 1888 which led to an increase in its size by 20% with many new features like stained glass windows, stone carvings, marble floors etcetera. Today, it still remains one of Goa's most important tourist attractions! Goa is a beautiful beach destination in India. It has many tourist attractions, which include the Se Cathedral, Basilica of Bom Jesus and the Goa State Museum. The cathedral was built by the Jesuits during Portuguese rule to serve as an ornate church for Christians residing in the city.
